What is the difference between bleaching and whitening your teeth?

Is there? Or are the two terms used loosely together to mean the same thing?

Well according to the FDA the term “bleaching” is only used when the teeth are being whitened beyond their natural color. “Whitening” on the other hand is used when refering to restoring a tooth’s surface color – removing dirt and debris.

With that said, any product that cleans your teeth like toothpaste can be considered a whitener.

For most people – we all start out with pearly white teeth, but over time our teeth lose that color as we chew, chew and chew. Add some sugar, coffee, or smoking and your teeth can lose their attractiveness very quickly.

Thanks to technology, we all have options when it comes to whitening our teeth. Of course – through dentistry you can bleach your teeth to try and achieve that pearly white smile you “used” to have.

You can also try over the counter products that you can apply at your own leisure in the comfort of your own home.

The glaring difference between the two – results.

By jumping in the dentists chair you will obtain faster results. It costs more, but is significantly quicker than OTC options. How is achieved? Well – when you get treatment by a dentist the concentration of hydrogen peroxide and other substances is much higher – roughly 30-35%.

OTC options – between 6% and 7%.

Here’s where Whiter Image comes into play. We offer both chair side and OTC treatments.

Our chair side treatment is entirely self-administered. The difference with ours over the dentist is our concentration is much less. Built with sensitive teeth in mind – our product is safe, fast and convienent.

To compliment our chair side treatment, which is available in today’s industry leading spas like Planet Beach, Beach Bums and Trump Towers, Las Vegas – we provide our customers with our line of whitening pens.

The difference with our product and the typical OTC kit is our concentration of hydrogen peroxide is 9%. Slightly more concentration; Better results – quicker.

“I drink a lot of coffee and some red wine, so my teeth were really stained. After just 1 session, my teeth improved 4 shades and I had NO SENSITIVITY! I have tried Crest White Strips and other products in the past and they always made my teeth sensitive. I was really concerned that the Whiter Image products would make my teeth hurt, but this was great!” Sofia H, (valued customer)

Whiter Image: Wherever you smile, We make it brighter.
