With teeth whitening all shades are not created equal. Some shades whiten easier and some shades are more difficult. The shade is often determined by teeth aging and which substances are affecting your teeth such as coffee, red wine, the food we eat, and of course tobacco.
The most common shades are yellow, brown, and grey.
-Yellow shade is usually the easiest to whiten. If your teeth are naturally yellow, not yellow from stains, then it will be more difficult to whiten.
-Grey is the hardest to whiten
-Brown is somewhere between yellow and grey. Results from teeth whitening will vary from person to person depending upon a variety of factors listed above. Stained teeth will be more receptive to whitening efforts than genetic discoloring. The key is to whiten your teeth so that they appear natural and meet your expectations.
Remember that good oral hygiene is a key to preventing your teeth from staining in the first place. If you would like to read more about choosing the right shade read our previous post, “How do you Choose The Right Teeth Whitening Color“.–Whiter Image
